Chosen Before It All Started

Text: "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight." Ephesians 1:4

Here's some theology to think about: Before the mountains were formed, before the universe was flung into space, God chose you. I am assuming you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is your Savior and Lord. That is what I am-- a believer too. According to this verse, God chose you and God chose me aeons ago.

Evolutionists toss around billions of years as a matter of course. They are always speculating about the age of the earth and the age of this or that specimen. Some Christians think that it is possible to be both an ardent Christian and a convinced evolutionist. I am not so sure.

Somebody created this world.

Somebody spoke, and the worlds came into being.

Somebody is the Master-Creator of nature's incredible intricacies.

That Somebody is our Lord.

In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God. And the Word was God. "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of Grace and Truth" John 1:14.

Yes, before God ever got down to business with creation, His prior business was choosing you and me. Think about it! That's enough to make one really jubilant: I was chosen before the creation of the world!
