RECOMMENDED STRATEGY FOR BUSY PASTORS
Margaret Bywater wrote A Heritage Biography of the life of Joseph Parker in 1961 published by Independent Press Ltd,
"As an arrangement for self-protection, I am driven to announce the following as my charges for general public service; in all cases traveling expenses must, of course, be paid:
- Preaching on behalf of the salaries of poor ministers, nothing;
- Preaching for ministers whose salaries are less than 100 pounds per year, nothing;
- Preaching for the opening of chapels -- 6 volumes of standard literature;
- Attending tea meetings-- 50 pounds;
- Going to bazaars-- 100 guineas;
- Serving on committees --2,000 pounds."
